Centurion
A solid heavy combat frigate, the Centurion can be counted upon to fill and hold gaps in the line of battle, as per the Domain-era doctrine practised by the successor-state of the XIV Battlegroup.
–In-game description |
The Centurion is valued for its versatility due to an abundance of hybrid weapon slots and an integrated Damper Field that allows it to shrug off the fearsome firepower it is sure to face in combat.

Overview
The base variation of the Centurion Frigate, used by factions such as the Persean League.
The Centurion is a large, defensive midline frigate. Its small hybrid mounts point in all directions, giving it good point defense and anti-swarm abilities but poor concentrated firepower.

Can be found in several faction fleets, including the Persean League.

Tips and strategies
The following section contains user-submitted suggestions, these may be inaccurate or outdated.
The Centurion is one of few frigates that can excel in an escort role for a much larger ship by utilising the Escort order. Its generous defensive stats and Damper Field ship system enable it to perform well in what would normally be a suicide detail for such a small craft, body blocking fire for its ward under cruiser or even capital pressure for a short duration.
It is of particular use as a point defense escort frigate due to its multiple small mounts with excellent 360 coverage, ensuring that a wide range of PD setups can keep sustained pressure on missiles or fighters. If you are seeking an escort frigate with a different sub-specialisation then check the Brawler or Monitor.
The frontal limbs of a Centurion may serve as places for aggressive damage emplacements, however they may also be utilized as highly effective point defense positions. Vulcan Cannons with Integrated Point Defense AI may be able to counter most unguided missiles, including those shot by the common pirate Capital Ship. When equipped with Unstable Injector the Centurion may be even fast enough to utilize these point defense emplacements as melee weapons, although Vulcans will be doing significant damage only against lightly armored targets.
