A stealth freighter which audaciously employs phase technology to support covert fleet operations, the Revenant is not cheap or efficient. Raised up from a dusty set of databanks hidden in an unnamed rock orbiting a nondescript star for a hundred cycles after the First AI War, the Revenant schematics provided an immense boon to the logistics of Tri-Tachyon raiders during the Second AI War.

Hegemony lawyers considered declaring the design illegal, but evidence of alpha-level AI influence was deemed insufficient. The lead prosecutor insisted so strongly that this was itself evidence of the work of an alpha that the High Hegemon found it politic to recuse them from the proceedings.

–In-game description

Overview

Best friend of wealthy smugglers, the Revenant is a specialized logistics phase ship that functions as both a fuel tanker and a freighter at the same time, but does not possess any weapon mounts. Its Phase Field allows it to operate as part of a phase fleet without compromising the fleet's sensor profile. As mentioned in its description, the Revenant is not an efficient replacement for proper tankers or freight ships.

Strategy and tips

Damagetype energy.png The following section contains user-submitted suggestions, these may be inaccurate or outdated.

As mentioned above, the lack of weapon mounts makes the Revenant defenseless, and its phased state will be more of a death sentence than any help in practice, as its basic slow speed (even with meager bonuses from skills and hullmods) will be crushed to that of a sitting duck. Because of this, it is recommended to remain undetected as possible, or have a fleet able to fend itself efficiently in disengage scenario.

Compared to other freighters and tankers ("logistics ships"), its maintenance-cost-to-cargo-capacity ratio is by far the worst; 5x higher than the Atlas', ~3.7x higher than the Colossus, and ~3.3x higher than the Buffalo. Its maintenance-cost-to-fuel-capacity ratio is likewise the worst of the tankers, ~5x higher than the Prometheus, ~3.3x higher than the Phaeton, and ~2.5x higher than the Dram, it is recommended to equip Revenants with the Efficiency Overhaul Hull-mod and ideally S-mod it for a 30% reduction in supply and fuel use.

Despite the Revenant's operating costs, they can still remain quite valuable by providing cruiser grade Phase Field bonuses alongside their hauling capacity that help larger task forces avoid detection by minimizing their fleet's sensor profile

While the Revenant does not have the Civilian-grade Hull mod, it still benefits from the Bulk Transport Industry Skill, gaining +2 base Burn bonus.
