Up to date for latest version, 0.97a.
A medium tanker with enough fuel capacity to support a larger fleet. Tanker duty is often considered punitive in the Hegemony - there's little opportunity for distinction, and less chance of survival should direct contact with the enemy occur. | ||
–In-game description |
Larger than the Dram-class, but smaller than the Prometheus-class, the Phaeton serves very well in its role as a fuel tanker, and nothing else but as a tanker.
Overview
The Phaeton is a destroyer class tanker ship. Out of the game's three tankers, it has the second highest fuel capacity, 800 units. A Phaeton or two are usually enough to keep a medium-to-large size fleet fueled for short or medium ranged trips, but the Prometheus is the tanker of choice for long-range journeys. Antithetically, the Dram is more suited to small fleets.
