Originally designed by the Tri-Tachyon Corporation for use on its combat droneships, the coherence field strength has to be dialed down to allow operation on crewed vessels.

Increases the range of all non-beam Energy and Hybrid weapons by 100/200.

The coherence field is unstable under combat conditions, with stresses on the hull resulting in spot failures that releases bursts of lethal radiation. Crew casualties in combat are increased by 50%.

Interactions with other modifiers

Since the base range is increased, this modifier - unlike most other flat modifiers - is increased by percentage modifiers from other hullmods and skills.

Overview

A special Built-in only hullmod that uniquely changes depending on whether or not the ship has a crew complement. Commonly referred to as "EBC".

  • +200 non-beam energy weapon range for ships with the Automated Ship hullmod.
  • +100 non-beam energy weapon range and +50% crew casualties in combat for any crewed ship.

Notes

Because the increase in range is applied to the base range of the weapons, the additional range receives the complete benefit from range increasing skills and hullmods instead of behaving like a flat modifier.
