Overview

Automated Ship is a built-in hullmod that only appears on droneships, such as those from the Domain Exploration Derelict.

These ships can only be obtained and used if the player has the Automated Ships skill, and they can only use uncrewed fighters (i.e., fighters with 0 crew per fighter).

Notes

  • Automated ships cannot be sold on the open market where AI Cores are illegal, though can be sold on the black market.
  • Ships with this hullmod are always forced into a Fearless personality, even if they are unofficered (see the Officer article for details).
  • Certain ships can be found with a special variant of the Automated Ship hullmod, making them usable without the Automated Ships skill and not counting against its point threshold:
However, this ship was automated in a fashion that does not require special expertise to maintain. Some of the techniques used are poorly understood, likely dating to an earlier period.
