Tips and strategies
The following section contains user-submitted suggestions, these may be inaccurate or outdated.
- The 50% reduction is for the shield maintenance soft flux cost only. It does not reduce the damage the shield takes in any way.
- It is useful for ships that want to expand their available flux dissipation further after maximizing flux vents.
- This is particularly attractive for shield-tanking ships with a higher shield cost than the relative OP cost of vents. For example, a frigate with more than 80 shield flux cost can effectively save 40 dissipation for a cost of 3 OP.
- Some ships that benefits significantly from this are the Apogee and the Paragon.
- Recommended only when there are ample vents as being at high soft flux can still be dangerous. When you do have it then this may work as a flat 10% damage reduction.
- The s-mod effect does not affect weapons that already deal soft flux.
