The Rift Cascade Emitter shares many similarities with the Tachyon Lance, as it's also a burst beam weapon with identical range and rate of fire. However, the Rift Cascade Emitter deals less direct damage and no EMP damage, it's also less efficient in terms of flux and ordnance points. Instead it creates space-time rifts around the target ship's outline on impact. More rifts are spawned when the beam is fired at short range. Each rift deals up to 1000 energy damage to nearby targets.

Therefore despite its very long range, the Rift Cascade Emitter is best used at medium/close range in order to maximize its damage potential. The weapon performs the best on players' flagships, and can be even more potent if paired up with a Tachyon Lance.

It is not not recommended to use this weapon with High Scatter Amplifier, as more rifts are created at close range, this is based off of the weapon's total range. The less range this weapon has, the closer you need to be for it generate a substantial number of rifts.
