Small caliber cannon designed to fire high-explosive rounds. Design of the coolant systems and autoloader emphasizes safety and prevention of cook-off potentially caused by high flux levels. Favored by destroyer captains that have something to prove.

The Light Assault Gun is a small, cheap ballistic weapon firing high explosive rounds. Due to its low damage per shot, a larger anti-armor weapon is often required to crack through heavy armor. It is only effective in large amounts, and only as a frigate or destroyer armor-melter.
