Heavy Batteries is a structure. It is built by upgrading a Ground Defenses.
Construction
Heavy Batteries costs 300,000¢ to be upgraded to and has a build time of 90 days.
It will refund 225,000¢ when downgraded and 337,500¢ when shutdown.
Upkeep
Ground Defenses have a base upkeep of 1,500¢ * (pop size - 2).
Effects
- +1 stability
- x3 multiplier of colony ground force
Shortages will reduce the multiplier proportionally
Production
Heavy Batteries do not produce any commodities.

AI Cores
Ground Defenses receive the following perks from the assignment of an AI Core:
- Gamma: reduces demand by 1 unit, increases Pather interest & Hegemony interest by 1.
- Beta: reduces demand by 1 unit, reduces upkeep by 25%, increases Pather interest & Hegemony interest by 2.
- Alpha: reduces demand by 1 unit, reduces upkeep by 25%, and multiplies Ground Defenses by x1.5, increases Pather interest & Hegemony interest by 4.
Additional Buffs
Additionally, a Combat Drone Replicator can be added, multiplying Ground Defenses by x1.5. This will also increase Pather interest by 4.
A Story point Improvement multiplies Ground Defenses by x1.25.
Notes
- Will use its orbital picture when on a Gas Giant colony.
