Notes

In addition to the loss of shields, ships cannot steer, change speed or vent while using Burn Drive.

Engine damage cannot flame out the engine while Burn Drive is active; at least one engine will remain operational until the effect duration ends.

Collisions during Burn Drive can potentially trigger a flameout for the Burn Drive ship;

  • Colliding with a larger ship size class at a relative velocity of at least 20 SU/s, on a 50% chance
  • Colliding with a ship of the same size class that has a higher mass at a relative velocity of at least 100 SU/s, on a 50% chance
  • Colliding with a ship of a lower ship size class will never trigger a flameout

Increases forward top speed and acceleration by 200, for up to 5 seconds. Requires 10 seconds to recharge on full use.
