Provides a flux cost reduction and a brief boost to the rate of fire of all ballistic weapons.

–In-game description

Activates an advanced - but jamming-prone - mechanism for quickly delivering ammo to the ship's ballistic weapon emplacements. The mechanism must be re-calibrated and cooled before it can be used again.

Overview

Availability

This ship system is known to be used on the following ships:

Frigates

Destroyers

Cruisers

Capital Ships

Special Cases

Notes

  • Has 1 second wind-up, 5 second duration, 1 second wind-down, 10 seconds cool-down.
  • Halves the charge-up, charge-down and burst delay of ballistic weapons down to 0.05 seconds.
  • Halves ballistic weapon flux use.
  • Accelerated Ammo Feeder essentially doubles the fire rate of ballistic weapons while keeping their flux use the same. Note that because fire rate cannot be reduced below 0.05, some extremely fast firing weapons will not actually fire any faster:
  • Vulcan Cannon already has fire rate of 0.05 so it will only see reduced flux use.
  • Light Needler and Heavy Needler already have fire rate of 0.05 hovewer the AAF will halve their long cooldowns and reduce flux use.
  • Thumper already has fire rate of 0.05, so AAF will only halve its short cooldown and reduce flux use; furthermore the AAF will not increase the ammo generation.
  • Despite what the flavor text says, there is no additional risk of jamming specific to the AAF.
