The Tia System is an uninhabited system in the Core Worlds to the galactic east if the Yma System. It is a binary system with the red dwarf Ta'xet orbiting closely. The system contains many asteroid fields and belts. This system is claimed by the Hegemony.

Tia, Orange Giant

Tia
A giant class K star which has depleted its hydrogen fuel and has reached sufficient temperature, due to sufficient mass, to fuse helium. Technically a kind of red giant, this star is more massive and hotter-burning than more common examples. Resembles the star Aldebaran known to classical pre-Domain astronomy.

–In-Game Description

  • Center of the Tia System

Ta'xet (Tia B), Red Dwarf

Tia B: Ta'xet
A class M main sequence star, small and exceedingly common. These relatively cool stars often mass only a fraction of Old Earth's sun.

–In-Game Description

  • Orbits Tia

Lagua's Torus (Asteroid Belt I)

  • Orbits Tia

Tia-Ta'xet Asteroid Cluster

  • Asteroid Field
  • Orbits Tia

Abandoned Research Station

Abandoned Research Station
This abandoned spacedock has been utterly cored by heavy weapons fire. The only detectable activity here comes from the decay of high-radiation ash fused to the station's hull.

–In-Game Description

  • Orbits Tia inside the Tia-Ta'xet asteroid Cluster

Asteroid Belt II

  • Orbits Tia

Ogre (Tia I), Irradiated World

Tia I: Ogre
Barren and highly irradiated, this planet is not only devoid of life but is a harsh environment even to hardened robotic operations due to the awesome energies inflicted upon its surface. Any habitat would need to constructed deeply indeed for anyone mad enough to live here.

–In-Game Description

  • Orbits Tia
  • Trailed by an asteroid field

The Mosquitoes (Asteroid Field)

  • Orbits Tia as Ogre's L3 trojan
  • Trailed by another asteroid field

Fringe Jump-point

  • Orbits Tia

Tia-Taxet Jump-point

  • Orbits Tia

Notes

  • The two jump-points appear to be mislabled, as the Fringe Jump-point has a closer orbit than the Tia-Ta'xet Jump-point.

Trivia

  • Tia is the god of peaceful death in Haida mythology, while Ta'xet is the god of violent death.
  • Lagua is a spirit in Haida mythology who was instrumental to the discovery of iron.
