Dockside Bars are a new feature of markets introduced in version 0.9. They are accessed by interacting with a planet or station and choosing the option Take a shuttle down to visit a dockside bar.

They are a good source of missions as well as loans or intel.

Missions

Approach the spacer and offer to buy him/her something more palatable

Gives location of the Pirate base responsible for Pirate activity in the system.

Make eye contact with the Pather and walk out into the back alley

Gives location of the Pather base supporting Pather cells on the planet/station.

Join the table of tattooed roughs and see if their contract is up

Get some veteran Marines for cheap.

Take up the lieutenant up on that offer of a pint

Gets you a Hegemony military contact. If you played through the Tutorial and met Caliban Tseen Ke at Galatia Academy you will always get this opportunity at Coatl; otherwise the name and location will be random.

Station-specific

These can only occur on stations of a specific faction.

• Hegemony stations can offer to swap either supplies or fuel for Heavy Armaments.
• Luddic Church and Luddic Path stations can provide cheap Food and Domestic Goods.
• Tri-Tachyon stations can provide loans (not repaying it makes you hostile to Tri-Tachyon regardless of the previous Attitude)
• Sindrian Diktat stations can provide cheap Volturnian Lobster.
• Persean League and Independent stations can provide cheap Supplies.
