Active Sensor Burst
| Turn off engines to reduce interference and link all sensors in the fleet into a single network.

Overview
Increases your fleets sensor strength by 3000 units and sensor profile by 5000 units. The fleet is reduced to its go-slow speed (half the burn level of the slowest ship).
Although you really do not want to utilise this ability if you're trying to keep your presence hidden, it allows for easy baiting of patrols when you have your transponder off. Moreover, because the Interdiction Pulse ability is based on sensor strength, a sensor burst can block it if timed correctly.
It also allows for better recognition of sensor blips or exact information about fleets, the using of a sensor burst allows for say the differentiation between e.g. dormant remnant fleets or something salvageable like an abandoned orbital habitat.
Using Active Sensor Burst on certain celestial object contributes points to Hyperspace Topography.
Tips and strategies
The following section contains user-submitted suggestions, these may be inaccurate or outdated.
- Active Sensor Burst can be used while entering a jump-point or using Transverse Jump on a nascent gravity well to benefit from the sensor strength increase upon entering the system. Since both of those actions already force the fleet to a halt, the ability's slowdown effect does not matter as much in those scenarios.
