Alpha Site
Alpha Site is a hidden "system" located approximately on the right upper corner of Hybrasil. As it has has no jump points the Alpha Site can only be reached by using the Transverse Jump ability. It contains only a single Irradiated rogue planet which was used by Tri-Tachyon as a secret research base before a strange incident led to its destruction.
Alpha Site was home to Project Ziggurat, a secret Tri-Tachyon project to create an experimental phase capital ship - something once thought to be impossible. The result, a prototype TTS Xenorphica can be found in Alpha Site's orbit and is initially hostile. When defeated the ship can be salvaged and obtained by the player albeit in a weaker form.
Additionally, the system contains a "hidden" shielded cargo container located approximately halfway between the irradiated planet and the upper right corner of the system map. It is guarded by few small Remnant ships, but be wary as they are all helmed by level 8 Alpha AI cores. The container holds several advanced [SUPER ALABASTER] weapons otherwise only available in limited amounts from endgame enemy encounters. The Neutrino Detector may be helpful in locating the hidden cache.
The Irradiated planet cannot be surveyed as interacting with it always brings up the scripted storyline bit.
Fighting the Ziggurat
As a phase ship the Ziggurat has no shields so bring a lot of explosive weaponry. A ship with about 15,000 effective shield HP should be able to tank the entire mote barrage - cruiser sized ships are recommended. Even then the entire barrage is all but guaranteed to completely disable the ship because of the huge amount of EMP damage. Hardened Shields will stop some of the EMP piercing through the shield; Resistant Flux Conduits will drastically reduce the amount of EMP damage taken.
The Ziggurat AI will not enter Phase until it loses most of its armor except for when you use missiles or torpedoes against it. Because the ship can generate and use motes even when phased it is recommended to NOT use either of those weapon types as the AI will avoid them anyway and it will only prolong the battle.
