Cryosleeper
This is one of the massive vessels of legend which transported millions of human emigrants from the core systems of the Domain out into the great frontiers stretching from the Sagittarius Arm across the Orion Spur. Judging by the weak but stable EM read on the sensors, many of the sleeper caskets remain viable even after so many hundreds of cycles here on the wild shores of the Perseus Arm.

–In-Game Description

The Domain-era Cryosleeper is a large derelict vessel found in some star systems; the vessel cannot be moved. Only 2 Cryosleepers can be found per sector.

Both Cryosleepers are defended only by a single Guardian Derelict Capital ship.

Once it has been defeated & the Cryosleeper has been explored, Colonies within 10 ly can construct the Cryorevival Facility structure to provide the host colony a significant population growth bonus, with decreasing effect the further away the colony.

Trivia

The cryosleepers ("Calypso" and "Tantalus") are named in reference to the 1994 DOS strategy game Alien Legacy, whose plot prominently features two cryosleepers bearing those same names.
