Coronal Hypershunt
This class of megastructure once powered the unfathomable industrial might of the Domain, putting the human civilisation well toward Kardashev type II status. It is capable of extracting energy on an astronomical scale directly from the linked star. Losing control of an active coronal hypershunt without following proper shut-down procedures can prove disastrous.

–In-Game Description


Coronal Hypershunt are massive super structures that are astronomically sized power stations, left behind by the Domain after the Collapse.

They are mainly found within the corona of Blue Giants or Blue Supergiants, or on the rare occasion floating in the center of a trinary system with at least 2 different types of stars (so one could be found in a system with 2 Red Dwarves & 1 Yellow Star, or one with a White Dwarf, Orange Star & Brown Dwarf, but not one with 3 white dwarves, for example).

Similar to Domain-era Cryosleepers, only 2 can be found in the Sector each playthrough, and each is guarded by 2 very powerful [SUPER ALABASTER] ships.

When its guardians are defeated, the Hypershunt can be repaired for a huge investment (20,000 metals and 5,000 transplutonics), which will finish after a short period.

After completing all these steps, Hypershunt Tap can be installed to tap into its awesome power & grant an extra industry slot, assuming that the colony is within 10ly and the induced demand of 10 units of Transplutonics can be met.
