"Taken together, these shrines form the Pilgrim's Path. It is not merely a linear path through space. Though of course," he/she takes a patient tone, "In secular use the name has been given to the major shipping lanes between Church and Hegemony-controlled volumes."

The Pilgrim's Path is a campaign mission in Starsector. The player receives a suggestion to visit six Luddic shrines.

Acquisition

This mission can be started by visiting Gilead, Jangala or Beholder Station, then visiting the shrine.

Walkthrough

The shrines can be visited in any order, although returning to the Gilead shrine is necessary to complete the quest.

Beholder Station

No special actions are required; simply dock with the station and choose "Visit the shrine".

Gilead

No special actions are required; simply dock with the planet and choose "Join the pilgrims visiting the Luddic shrine".

Hesperus

Your visit will be denied by Excubitor Orbis Gideon Oak.

  • If your reputation with Luddic Church is at least welcoming, you will be allowed to visit after talking with him.
  • If your reputation is neutral, you will be told to wait seven days. After that, you will be allowed to visit.
  • If your reputation is suspicious or worse, you will be told to "seek virtue". You'll need to either improve your relationship or seek a different solution.

If you can't or don't want to deal with Orbis, you have two options:

  • Docking with your transponder off will allow you to sneak into the shrine.
  • A bribable person can be found at the bar; 2000 credits will allow passage.

The player will then run into a young Knight of Ludd initiate named Ned Boot. The played can talk to him about the Path and Brother Cotton, and may choose to speak positively about him.

Jangala

No special actions are required; simply dock with the planet and choose "Take a shuttle to visit the Luddic shrine".

The player can opt to go outside, either with a mask or without one.

The player can also see a Luddic protest in the bar. They can ignore it, join it, offer local security to help deal with it (with Hegemony commission), or use marines to plow through it.

Killa

No special actions are required; simply dock with the planet and choose "Take a shuttle to the Luddic Church beacon".

Volturn

A Sindrian Diktat official will block your way. Your options are:

  • With Diktat commission, you will be allowed in.
  • Without Diktat commission, you can lie about a secret mission for SP 100% XP.
  • A bribe of 5000 credits (can be talked down to 2000).

If the player has a Diktat commission, they will be sent by the Curate Sacraria Moyra Standfast to a fake shrine, with some different dialog.

Finishing the mission

Return to Gilead's shrine to finish the pilgrimage.

Reward

Visiting each shrine grants experience. Finishing the entire mission gives 10 relationship with Luddic Church, and leads directly into the Knight Errant quest.
