–In-Game Description

They are typically found in close orbit of their host star.

Varying degree of Ruins can also be found.

Market conditions

Volcanic worlds will always have one of the following (mutually exclusive):

Hot extreme.png Extreme Heat (+50% hazard rating) will always be an attribute of Volcanic worlds, though sometimes it can be Hot.png Hot (+25% hazard rating) instead.

Tectonic extreme.png Extreme Tectonic Activity (+50% hazard rating) will always be an attribute of Volcanic worlds, though sometimes it can be Tectonic.png Tectonic Activity (+25% hazard rating) instead.

It can also have:

Colony

Volcanic worlds primarily serves as a host to the Mining Industry, and by extension Refining too.

Planets with at least both Abundant ore deposits & Abundant rare ore deposits can achieve self-sufficiency in Refining demands with the aid of an Administrator with Industrial Planning, which is easily met with the usual abundance of deposits that can be found of Volcanic worlds.

A Commerce can also be used to capitalized on the income from Mining & Refining.

Special items

An Autonomous Mantle Bore is of great use on a Mining Industry.

A Cryoarithmetic Engine can be quite useful in bolster a Military Base or a High Command or even a Patrol HQ due to most Volcanic worlds having Extreme Heat, though this would make a Commerce less desirable due to the effects of reduced stability on fleet size.

And as with all non-habitable worlds, a Heavy Industry/Orbital Works with a Corrupted Nanoforge/Pristine Nanoforge can work well too if the hazard rating is low enough or if needed.

Trivia

  • Volcanic worlds has 2 distinct texture types, they also have different degrees of atmosphere visibility/density.
  • The Core Worlds has no Volcanic colonies, at least without player action.
