Janus Device

	This is the first generation Janus Device created by Elissa Zal based on the theories developed by Scylla Coureuse, among others. While integrated with a hyperdrive this device allows a hyperwave pulse tuned to the unique resonant signatures of two Gates to be transmitted into a Gate aperture. After a tremendous energy input which requires a great quantity of fuel to generate, a temporary link between those Gates is created. One ship or fleet may then transit the gate network

Acquiring

Completing the Galatia Academy quest "At The Gates", the current final mission of the Galatia Academy Questline, will reward the player with a special item in the cargo called the Janus Device.

This device can be right clicked to be integrated with the player's fleet, which mainly serves to remove it from contributing clutter in the player's cargo.

This item cannot be removed from the player's cargo.

Usage

Whether held in the cargo or integrated, the Janus Device will allow the player to make use of the Gate Network to travel around.

Firstly, the player needs to Scan a Gate by selecting this option when interacting with it.

Then, when interacting with a Scanned Gate, and the option to Travel through the Gate will be available.

This will bring up the map of the Sector, where the player can select & travel to any system with a scanned Gate.

This methodology of travel is twice as efficient as Hyperspace travel (costs half the amount of fuel), and is instantaneous.

Janus is the name of the ancient Roman god of gates, doorways, and other forms of passage, and is associated with the concept of traveling.
