–In-Game Description |
A Cryovolcanic World is a Planet type that can be found within the Persean sector.
They are typically found in the other reaches of a system, or anywhere within a system without a source of light or heat like a Black Hole system or a Nebula system.
Resources
Cryovolcanic worlds are guaranteed to have ore deposits, rare ore deposits and volatiles deposits.
These planets typically have:
Sparse (-1) to
Ultrarich (+3) ore deposits.
Sparse (-1) to
Ultrarich (+3) rare ore deposits.
Diffuse (0) to
Plentiful Voltailes (+2) volatiles deposits.
Varying degree of Ruins can also be found.
Market conditions
Extreme Cold (+50% hazard rating) (+50% hazard rating) will always be an attribute of Cryovolcanic worlds.
Tectonic Activity (+25% hazard rating) will always be an attribute of Cryovolcanic worlds, though sometimes it can be
Extreme Tectonic Activity (+50% hazard rating) instead.
Cryovolcanic worlds will usually have either Poor Light (+25% hazard rating) or
Darkness (+50% hazard rating), though also rarely neither.
Other market conditions that can appear are:
Low Gravity (+25% hazard rating & +10% accessibility)
High Gravity (+50% hazard rating & -10% accessibility)
Thin Atmosphere (+25% hazard rating) on rare occasions
Toxic Atmosphere (+50% hazard rating) on rare occasions
Dense Atmosphere (+50% hazard rating) on rare occasions
Decivilized (+25% hazard rating) on rare occasions
It can also have:
Irradiated (+50% hazard rating) if it's in a sole Neutron Star system.
Colony
Cryovolcanic worlds primarily serves as a host to the Mining Industry, which is particularly lucrative due to the planet type guaranteeing the appearance of 3 mineable resources, and of course, by extension Refining too.
Planets with at least both Abundant ore deposits & Abundant rare ore deposits can achieve self-sufficiency in Refining demands with the aid of an Administrator with Industrial Planning.
A Commerce can also be used to capitalized on the income from Mining & Refining.
Special items
An Autonomous Mantle Bore is of great use on a Mining Industry.
Orbital Fusion Lamp can be used to counteract the increased hazard rating from Cold or Extreme Cold and Poor Light or Darkness.
And as with all non-habitable worlds, a Heavy Industry/Orbital Works with a Corrupted Nanoforge/Pristine Nanoforge can work well too if the hazard rating is low enough or if needed.
Trivia
- Cryovolcanic worlds comes in a wide variety of colourization, mainly different shades of grey & blue, they also have different degrees of atmosphere visibility/density.
- The Core Worlds has 4 Cryovolcanic colonies:
